"Macro photography is photography magnified. It is generally recognized as “macro” when you are increasing the size of an object in your picture from about half life-size, as represented on the image sensor, to five times life-size." - National Geographic
Olloclip recently released an app and since I own their lenses I had to get it (plus it's free). The app is meant to enhance your photographs and fix distortions with some helpful features . The macro lens is my favorite of the three so I was pleased to see the inclusion of a "Macro Mode". This mode is meant to help you focus your image, which is notoriously hard to do with the macro lens and even the slightest of shaky hands. There is also a boosted zoom called "loupe". While I love the macro lens I can't say I'm completely amazed by the "Macro Mode" in the app. I think the bigger features are the ability to split exposure and focus into two separate reticles and the mesh editor for fixing distortions. Besides all that, I really love and prefer the VSCO camera app so I pretty much shoot and edit all my photos with that. And yes, the Olloclip works great with that app.
